Pittsburgh Technical Institute’s School of Healthcare offers the following majors:
- Medical Assisting: work directly with patients and alongside physicians performing both clinical and administrative tasks.
- Medical Office Administration: keep the offices of doctors, physicians and hospital administrators running smoothly by processing patient accounts and doctors' orders, insurance and legal documents, managing office tasks, and keeping patients content.
- Medical Coding: use industry accepted designated codes to indicate medical terms and procedures for billing purposes.
- Medical Coding Online: use industry accepted designated codes to indicate medical terms and procedures for billing purposes by taking classes online.
- Patient Care Technician: monitor patients for signs and adverse reactions to medications and treatments, obtain specimens, and create and document medical records.
- Practical Nursing (LPN): use industry accepted designated codes to indicate medical terms and procedures for billing purposes.
- Surgical Technology: work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and other surgical personnel to deliver patient care before, during and after surgery.
- Therapeutic Massage: combine the science of anatomy and physiology with the art of professional touch to provide patients and clients relief from pain associated with tension, injury and disease.
Pittsburgh Technical Institute is Western Pennsylvania’s first Middle States accredited two-year career college.
